The Motley County Lions Club met March 13 at the Motley County Senior Citizens Building. Lion Boss Alvin Alexander opened the meeting by welcoming all members, and guest Mike Crowley started the meeting with his usual uplifting prayer, and a pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags.

Last week, Guthrie finished 2nd only to Jayton at the District UIL Academic meet, advancing a number of students as Regional qualifiers. In the 2024 UIL Academic district results, for individual results were as follows: In Computer Science, Brett Hardin placed 3rd (Regional Qualifier), and Natalie McWhirter placed 6th.
