Howard Lee Limmer, 1940–2024

of Snyder died Monday, January 22, 2024, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 83. Howard was born on September 5, 1940 in Hamilton, Texas, to Lee Limmer and Edna Bottlinger Limmer. When Howard was five, the family moved to Slaton, Texas, when his father became an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad. He grew up there alongside his older sisters, Natrell Limmer Love and Charlene Limmer Gilliland. As an adolescent, he was confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Slaton. He was a member of the Slaton Tigers football team and enjoyed the thrill and fun of being a rodeo bull rider. It was in Slaton that he began working for the C.R. Anthony Company as a young man.
