Bobbye was born July 12, 1931, in Lockney, Texas, to Hilburn and Dorris (Calahan) Casey. She married Walter Wade Bean in 1958, after being introduced by her sister, Jontha Lee, and brother-in-law Dub Mercer. They were blessed with over 53 years of marriage, raising their boys in the home they built in 1960 in Silverton, where she lived for the rest of her life. Bobbye graduated from Hardin-Simmons University and West Texas State University. She taught second grade to multiple generations of families, and even in her last days, would point out her former students. In her later years, she loved quilting with her friends and gifting her quilts to family members and friends. Bobbye was very active at church, served on numerous committees, and played the piano and organ until her death.

After Walter’s passing, Bobbye enjoyed a special friendship with Alvie Francis and his family. Family meant the world to her and she could not wait to have grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Bean, and her brother Donice Casey.

Bobbye is survived by her three sons: Brent and wife Jan of Amarillo, Kyle and wife Lori of Lubbock, and Casey and wife Corrina of Midland; eight grandchildren: Zach, Drew, Jill, Kyler, Baylor, Christine, Corrine, and Caleb; and ten great-grandchilden: Jack, Brette, Julian, Brecklynn, Spencer-Kay, Karah, Beaudie, Beacon, Autumn and Sloane.
