Donald Fleming, 1936–2023

CLAY COUNTY, TEXAS—

Donald Fleming, 87, of Byers, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Byers Community Center in Byers, Texas.

Donald was born on September 21, 1936 in Byers, Texas, to Walter and Clara (Gates) Fleming. He was retired from the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation and was a member of the Henrietta Masonic Lodge #454.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carlye; two brothers, Leo and Jack Fleming; and one grandson, Cody Fleming.

Survivors include his son, Ty Fleming of Byers, Texas; two daughters, Kim Kimzey of Byers and Dee Dee Jones (David) of Fairfield, Texas; two stepsons, Greg Hill and Michael Hill; three grandchildren, Misty Kimzey, Chad Kimzey and Holly DeKlerk; five step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, Mason, Dylan, Morgan, Sawyer, Josey and one on the way.
