   Church Services for Presley “Press” B. Canon, 90, of Paducah, were held at 2pm on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Paducah with Rev. Christi Hoffman officiating. Interment followed at Garden of Memories under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home of Paducah. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Press passed from this life on Monday, February 6, 2017 in Paducah.

   Press was born on July 25, 1926 to Q and Alene (Ruff) Canon in Paducah. He enlisted in the United States Army on April 16, 1945. He served for one year and was Honorably Discharged. He married Betty Barnes on November 11, 1951 in Paducah. From this union they had two children, Connie and Susie.

   Press was a mechanic. He worked for Arvis Davis Chevrolet for several years. He served on the Paducah City Council from 1973 to 1993, he was on the Paducah Fire Department, a  member of the First United Methodist Church, and he was a member of the Methodist Men. Press was an amazing person and he will be greatly missed.

   Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years; Betty Canon of Paducah, two daughters; Connie Beck and Steve of Paducah, and Susie Canon Hurt of Paducah, his sister; Doris Moore of Matador, four grandchildren; Steven Beck & wife Dana, Lacey Davis, Jeremy Beck & wife Traci, and Bri Wiley & husband Chris, and twelve great grandchildren; Austin Mackey, Madison Beck, Jordan Mackey,  Marley Beck, Kadyn Mackey, Jodi Beck, Bryson Davis, Kadee Beck, Brody Beck, Payton Wiley, Pyper Wiley, and Makenna Casey.

   He is preceded in death by his parents; Q and Alene Canon and his son in law; Micky Hurt.

   Memorial donations in honor of Press Canon can be made to the First United Methodist Church or to CRMC Hospice of Childress.
