Pat Whitfill, 98, of Lockney died Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Graveside services will be held at the Silverton Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017. The family will receive friends at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney, Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Mrs.Whitfill was born July 21, 1918, in San Antonio, Texas, to Roy and Edith (Knox) Patterso. She graduated Lockney High School and attended Texas Women’s College and Texas Tech. She married Ben Whitfill in 1936 and moved to Silverton where they farmed and raised their children. They moved back to Lockney in 1995. Mrs. Whitfill was involved in First Baptist Church, Eastern Star, Study Club, and Rainbows. Anyone who knew her knows she was devoted to her family and their happiness.
Survivors include two sons, Rusty and wife, Tish, of Burleson, Texas; Gene and wife, Deana, of Plainview; and one daughter, Gale and husband, Dan, of Lockney. She is also survived by her sister, Sally Shaw, of Dallas; and Jimmy Scott’s widow, Gwen. Cherishing her memory are ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, and their son, Jimmy Scott.
