Johnny E. Meredith
Church Services for Johnny E. Meredith, 68, of Lubbock were held at 11am on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Wayne Avenue Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas, with Pastor Terry Kirkpatrick officiating. Interment was held at Roaring Springs Cemetery at 4pm. Arrangements were under the personal care of Zapata Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Meredith passed from this life on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Lubbock.
Johnny was born on May 02, 1948 in McAdoo, Texas to Luster Cornelius and Cecil Agnes (Abrocrombie) Meredith. He graduated from Roaring Springs High School. He enlisted in the Army on April 1, 1968 and was Honorably Discharged on November 2, 1969.
Johnny was a talented carpenter. He was a member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church in Lubbock. Johnny loved to play the guitar and sing. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 3 years, Mary Alice Meredith of Lubbock; his daughter Melissa Price and husband Brandon of Lubbock; his grandson Breckin Price; a step-daughter Shannon Giesecke of Austin; two step-sons, Gary Haygood and wife Tara of Phoenix, Az., and Clay Haygood and wife Misty of Marana, Az.; his siblings, Verlon Lindsey of Temple, Marilyn Wyss of Belton, Joe Meredith of Roaring Springs, Bennie Meredith of Roaring Springs, and Dian Estes of Matador.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Luster and Agnes Meredith; three sisters, Doris Thanes, Yvonne Wilson, and Elwanda Carson; and his brother Jackie Meredith.
