Guthrie Class of 2017 Valedictorian and Salutatorian

Morgan Atkinson ~ Valedictorian

Morgan is the daughter of Brent and Jerri Atkinson, and sister to Brett. She’s been a part of the Guthrie family for nine years, and says the best part of it is that “family feeling you get when you are here.”

She was busy in high school with Science Quiz Bowl, Horse Quiz Bowl, Nutrition Quiz Bowl, and other 4-H events. She placed 10th at State in Science, was a 3-time District Champ in Science, and placed 9th at State in C/X Debate.

Someday she hopes to become an Obstetrician. Her advice to kids is this: “Live right now, and be yourself.”

Words of Wisdom? “Be yourself and accomplish your goals.”

Landon Roberts ~ Salutatorian

Landon is the son of Rod and DeAnne Roberts, and brother to Logun Timberlake. He’s been a part of the Guthrie family for four years, and says the best part is that Guthrie is like a second family.

He has participated in football, track and field, and One Act Play. His greatest memory is spending time on a sports team and forming strong relationships with his teammates. He was All-State Defensive Football MVP, State Champion Pole Vaulter, All-Star Actor in the Region, and a member of NHS.

Someday, Landon hopes to open a fitness gym. His advice to younger kids is “Do whatever it takes to reach your dreams.”

His favorite movie is My Magnificent Obsession, his favorite song is Mask Off, and his dream car is an Audi. The people who’ve most influenced him are his parents.

Words of Wisdom? “Be the hardest worker in the room and you will be the most successful.”
