AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 300 pounds of marijuana Wednesday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper conducted a traffic stop in Carson County.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple large trash bags of marijuana in the rear cargo area under a bed sheet. The marijuana is worth approximately $1.8 million.

The female driver, Kha Xiong, 37, of St. Paul, Minn., was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana. Xiong was transported and booked into the Carson County jail.
