Bettye Hill Long, 92, formerly of Silverton, Texas, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017. Visitation was held from 6 – 8pm, Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Moore-Rose Visitation Parlor in Silverton. Graveside services were held at 10am, Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Silverton Cemetery, with Reverend Elvin Norris officiating. Arrangements were under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home.
Bettye was born October 21, 1925 to Jesse Clayton Hill and Willie Annis (Morton) Hill. She married Floyd (Bud) Long, a cowboy from Clarendon. She enjoyed the cowboy lifestyle.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Willie Hill; her husband, Bud; and their son, and sister, Anita (Hill) Walls.
She is survived by her daughter, LaJuan (Curby) Eddleman, and husband Randall Eddleman of Floydada, Texas; son, Rocky Clayton Curby, and wife Paulette, of California; as well as eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
