Don Paul Keith
Don Paul Keith, 90, of Lubbock and formerly of Matador, went to be with his Heavenly Father April 15, 2018.
Don was born to D.P. and Cecil Bourland Keith May 15, 1927. He graduated from Matador High School 1944 and received a B.S. in Geology from Texas Tech University in 1950. He married Jean James in 1990 and they made their home in Lubbock. Together they loved to travel and play bridge. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Lubbock.
He leaves as his legacy; children, son, Lawrence Keith, wife Lori, daughters, Charlotte Keith, Carrie Keith, Step daughters, Nancy Parker and Carolyn McGehee, husband Bobby. Don has 33 grand and great grand children. He also leaves behind his loving brother Arlando “Bodie” Keith. His children remember him as a kind loving father full of understanding and being supportive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.P. and Cecil Bourland Keith, his sister Ruth Latimer, and his late wife Frances Breedlove Keith.
Don joined the Navy in 1945 and the Air Force in 1952. Don was a Geologist until he retired in 1985 after 32 years with ARCO. He was a member of the Texas Tech Wranglers since 1944 with which he had many cherished adventures over the years.
A celebration of life was at Sanders Memorial Chapel. Graveside service followed at the East Mound Cemetery in Matador.
