LUBBOCK – The Caprock Peace Officers’ Association (CPOA) today announced the 69th Annual Rattlesnake Rodeo to be held on May 10, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Clairemont, Texas. The CPOA invites all law enforcement and civilians to attend the event and encourage everyone to participate in fun-filled events including Horseshoe Pitching, Trap Shoot and other competitive shooting.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the cost is $20 per person.  Clairemont is located approximately 38 miles east of Post on US-380.

The CPOA was founded in 1949 by Cecil Fox, Charlie Kimmel, Horace Cage, V.C. Smart, Horace Wood and J.R. Whitmire. The original site of the meeting was located at the Wood Ranch on the south bank of The Salt Fork of the Brazos River. The purpose of the meeting was to focus on the need and benefits of collaboration within local and regional law enforcement.

Beginning in 2018, membership will open to all law enforcement and civilians statewide.
