Donald Ray Turner
Donald Ray Turner, age 81, of Odessa, passed away at his home that he built for his family, Monday, April 30, 2018 in Odessa. He was born Tuesday, June 16, 1936 in Silverton, TX to Margie Frances (Jones) and John Henry Turner. Donald worked as a welder and retired from Sivalls Inc. and was owner and operator of Turner Welding. He worked hard for his family and loved his wife and children dearly, and was adored and respected by his grandchildren. Donald faithfully served in the United States Army.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his two sons: Eric Turner and wife Sherry of Clovis, NM; John Turner and wife Gaea of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter: Margie McAnear and husband Revis of Jefferson, TX; four brothers: Sammy Lee Turner and wife Rita of Lubbock, TX; John D. Turner of Lockney, TX; Guinn Turner and wife Rhonda of Leaky, TX; Douglas Turner and wife Karen of Lubbock, TX; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Lelia Mae (Jones) Turner; and son: Michael Travis Turner.
The family will greet visitors prior to the service beginning at noon on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Silverton Senior Citizens Center. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Silverton Cemetery in Silverton, Briscoe County, Texas. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent to the family online at acreswestfuneral.com. The children wish to express their deepest thanks and appreciation to Uncle Noland for all of the help, support and love that he unselfishly provided to both Mom and Dad throughout the years.
