Kim Cornett McPherson
Kim Cornett McPherson age 57 of Wellington died Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
Funeral services were at 2pm on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Wellington, with Larry Haddock, minister of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial was at the McPherson Ranch near Wellington. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Pallbearers were Doug Pritchett, Bryan Blackman, Ricky Day, Luke Horton, Ray Lermon and Barney Willborn. Honorary pallbearer was Devon Lyles.
She was born on October 4, 1960 in Plainview, to Don and Glenna Faye Thompson Cornett. She married Bobby McPherson on October 22, 1983 in Silverton.
Kim graduated from Silverton High School in 1979, attended South Plains College, Texas Tech University and received her BS degree in respiratory therapy in 1995.
They moved to Wellington in 1995 from Lubbock. She was a stay at home mom for her girls until she thought they were old enough and then began her career as a respiratory therapist. She worked for several medical providers in the area. In 2011 she partnered with her best friend Judy Wischkaemper and opened Mesquite Creek where they specialized in items reclaimed, rebuild and reborn until they retired from that in 2013. Along with her husband, they operated BAD Production Company, which produces ranch sorting’s. They also enjoyed participating in the sorting’s.
She attended the First Christian Church.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents and her niece Brooke Parker.
Her survivors include her husband Bobby of Wellington; three daughters Taber Shellene Black and husband Nate of Abernathy, Tahni Jade McPherson of San Francisco and Dr. Kimberly Blythe McPherson of Plano; two brothers Mike Cornett and wife Jackie of Dimmitt and Tad Cornett and wife Cindi of Lubbock; a sister Shellie Powell and husband Jeff of Lubbock; sister in law Leila Smith and husband David of Amarillo; two grandchildren Dallan and Mayli Black; four nieces Makenzie Braidfoot, Bree Cornett, Cortney Orick and Jamie Price; three nephews Tyler Cornett, Bryce Parker and Landon Lamb; and a great nephew Ky Braidfoot.
