Safety Features to Be Added to Area Highways

CHILDRESS – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will begin a project on June 13 to add safety features to various highways in the Childress District.

This $422,372 project will consist of installing rumble strips on the center line in some locations to help prevent crossover crashes and on shoulders to prevent run off the road crashes.

This is a mobile operation, and the contractor, Texas Panhandle Construction, Inc., will use advance warning signs on the roadway.  Motorists should slow down when in the work zone and watch for slow moving construction equipment.
