Hall County Sheriff’s Office News Release:
We would like to welcome, to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Officer Hector. Hector is our new narcotics dog.
Born in Romania, and raised in Budapest, two-year-old Hector (a Belgian Malinois) is trained to detect narcotics, locate and apprehend suspects, and locate evidence. He replaces K-9 Izak, who was recently retired due to medical issues. He is pictured above with Chief Deputy Jared Johnson.
Hector is teamed up with Chief Deputy Jared Johnson, who has been a certified law enforcement canine handler for several years. Johnson and Hector are certified as a team, and with the addition of Hector to the Sheriff’s Office we can continue in our mission to provide professional law enforcement services to the citizens of Hall County by using Hector in our every day pursuit of the criminal element.
Hector was trained by Signal K-9 LLC in Nacogdoches, Texas, and was purchased through donations granted to the Sheriff’s Office by Salt Creek Ranch and McQueen Farms, as well as funds seized through search warrants and criminal interdiction efforts on our local highways.
Sheriff Heck would like to thank “Salt Creek Ranch and McQueen Farms for their generous donations as well as Signal K-9 LLC for allowing us to continue with our quest to better protect our citizens.”
