Dr. Jim Taylor was called home to be with The Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 6:33 pm. Throughout his life, Dr. Taylor loved The Lord Jesus Christ and strove to serve Him to his utmost ability. He never preached anything from the pulpit that he didn’t live in front of his friends and family. Though we miss him, we will see him in Glory!
Dr. Taylor grew up in the Panhandle of Texas and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1956. Pastor Taylor was born again in May of 1960 while serving in the United States Navy. After serving for 10 years in the Navy, Pastor Taylor enlisted in the United States Air Force, from which he retired after serving a total of 22 years in the US military. Pastor Taylor began his full-time ministry, which spanned over 40 years, immediately after retirement from the United States Air Force in 1976 when he was called to pastor the Bible Independent Baptist Church of Destin, Fl. Dr. Taylor earned his doctorate from Anderson Theological Seminary. He balanced his service to The Lord while being an exemplary pastor, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Dr. Taylor married his wife, Mary Louise Crabtree Taylor in January of 1957. Mrs. Taylor also grew up in the Panhandle of Texas, where she met Pastor Taylor while a she was a young lady. In the late summer of 2018 amid major health issues and after 28 years of full time service as pastor at the Harvest Hill Baptist Church, Dr. Taylor stepped into the Pastor Emeritus position while Bro. JR Trammell has become the Pastor of the Harvest Hill Baptist Church. On November 7, 2018 Dr. Taylor left this robe of flesh and is standing in the presence of The Lord Jesus Christ!
