Joyce Hunter

   Joyce Hunter, 85, of Roaring Springs, TX passed away on Sunday, Oct 13th 2019 in Lockney, Tx. Joyce was born on March 29th 1934 in Lamb County Tx to Earl and Agnus Studer.

   She was raised in Seymour, TX and Turkey, Tx and married RE Hunter on Dec 21st 1950 in Clovis New Mexico. They lived in Turkey until 1954 when they moved to Dimmitt, TX. There she owned and operated Lucky U Kindergarten and Christian School from 1965 to 1987.   

   RE and Joyce moved to Roarings Springs, Tx in 1995 where she was actively involved with the Walk to Emmaus Community and Cleansing Stream Ministries.  

   Joyce is survived by her husband, Edmond Hunter, three children, Vickie Nelson and her husband George of Canyon, TX, Ricky Hunter and his wife Katy of Georgetown, Tx, and Scott Hunter and his wife Andrea of Georgetown, TX; five grandchildren, Lynn Nelson, Summer Nelson, Shawn Nelson, Bo Hunter and Adam Hunter; nine great grandchildren, and one sister, Renee Sperry of Alabama. Joyce is preceded in death by her sister Margie Buchanan, and two brothers, James Studer and WL Studer.

   Joyce will be remembered for her loving and kind nature, and the many lives she touched through Gods hands.

   In lieu of a funeral or memorial service, family and friends are encouraged to make a donation to their favorite charity on her behalf.

    Mike and I want to express our deepest sadness at the death of Joyce Hunter. One of my second earthly moms. A wonderful teacher, mother, Christian. Though it has been way to long since we have seen the Hunter family, their presence in our lives will always be cherished. May Our thoughts, prayers be with family and friends as we all grieve her loss. Mike and Tanya Hutton

    I remember Joyce as a kind classmate, Always laughing, Having fun with her Classmates, a good Student, She was married to a very good fellow,

    This lady taught me so many valuable lessons. Her after school program was one of the highlights of my week. I loved when she read us stories,her voice was so soothing and I loved having the privilege of having her in my life. Prayers for love and comfort to her family.🙏🏼💜
