AIN’T THAT GOOD NEWS!
New business to open on Matador square Aug. 15
The Front Page to offer news, crafts, coffee
KAY ELLINGTON | CAPROCK COURIER
On Saturday, August 15, the Caprock Courier invites readers to join us for the grand opening of The Front Page at 724 Dundee in Matador.
Gathering local news is a key function of Matador’s newest business, though Caprock Courier editor and Front Page owner Liz Adams also hopes to serve the community in a variety of ways. Former Motley Tribune Publisher Carla Meador and New to You owner Annette Hollinsworth have been instrumental in helping to create the right combination of goods and services for Matador and throughout Caprock Country. Customers may stop in for a copy of the paper or to drop off a classified ad and stay for coffee, a cold soda or a treat.
The Front Page will provide delicious carnitas and tasty sandwich options from Taco Q, every Thursday through Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. A selection of their salsa verde and sauces will be available. Customers are welcome to have a seat and chat while they eat or take convenient, individually wrapped food items to go.
Additionally, a gallery wall displays local art and plans include the regular production of household and craft wares made with recycled paper. An assortment of school supplies, candy, and toys will be kept on the shelves. Family game nights and regularly scheduled readings and book events will be posted in cooperation with other area businesses and organizations.
Adams, who is pleased with the location of the multipurpose space, remarked, “What better place could have become available for us to meet the members of the community we serve than the old newspaper office?”
Adams hopes the move will make her more accessible to all of the Caprock Courier’s valued customers and contribute to both practical and creative growth in Caprock Country.
