PATRIOTS PREVAIL Valley won their season opener at Aspermont 51-34
Junior running back Jaxon Edwards scored 5 TDs en route to the victory.

The Valley Patriots started their season with a bang, and a 51–34 victory against the Aspermont Hornets in the season’s first football game, played in Aspermont.

The players battled scorching heat for this early game; it was 99 degrees at 6 p.m. at kickoff. Plenty of fans were in attendance for both sides, though. No matter the weather, it was a great way to kick off the 2020 football season for the Patriots.

Stats weren’t available for this first game, but we’ll try to have those for the next one, when Valley faces the Petersburg Buffaloes Friday, Sept., 4 at Valley, at 7:30 p.m.
