Shirley was born August 17, 1936, in the Midway Community in Dawson County to Charles Leonard and Allie Mae (Key) Mullins. After graduating from Lamesa High School and going on to attend college, she met and married the love of her life, Richard Duane Reynolds, on December 7, 1957, at Midway Baptist Church. They enjoyed almost 63 years together.

Shirley was a loving, Christian woman who loved the Lord and her family. She worked as the librarian at Silverton ISD for 21 years before retiring. But retirement did not slow her down, Shirley had many interests and hobbies. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Silverton. She loved her church and was very active in many aspects of ministry there and in every part of her life. She loved to sing and was a member of the Singing Women of Texas for 15 years. She was a part of the WMU and the Women’s Missionary Union, and worked with GA’s for a long time. She also loved reading and playing the piano.  Shirley displayed her love of the Lord in every aspect of her life, writing friends and loved ones notes of encouragement when they needed it, and by simply being a great listener when they needed it. Even after she became ill herself and was hospitalized, she continued to witness to and minister to everyone she came in contact with to try to insure they too found their way to the Lord.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Burnam; and two brothers, A. P. Mullins and Avison Mullins.

Those left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her husband, Duane Reynolds; her son, Darrell Reynolds and his wife, Dianne, of Silverton; her daughter, Jan Sanders and husband Herb of Amarillo; her four grandchildren, Daryl-Ann Heinrich and husband Logan, Jesse Reynolds and wife Brittany, Cheyenne Berggren and husband Ross, and Sydney Gress and husband Tyler; her four great-grandchildren, Rowan, Olivia and Lila Heinrich, and Naomi Berggren; and her sisters Ann Newman of Odessa and Marcille Robison of Midland.
