January is over, and with it we look back on the 2021 season of Junior Livestock Shows in Texas Caprock Country. Enjoy these highlights from Briscoe, King, and Motley Counties, courtesy of content editor Liz Adams.

Throughout Texas Caprock Country — the rural counties east of Lubbock on the margin of the Llano Estacado and “below the Cap” —each January scores of elementary and high school students exhibit the livestock they’ve been raising all fall, or other non-ag projects they’ve been creating. These youngsters practice their best showmanship for the judges and hope for that coveted blue ribbon — but they’re all winners.
