FRIENDSHIP QUILTERS

Body

Another anniversary of the birth of our country has passed and I pray everyone received a special renewal of love and appreciation for our country and the lives that were lost trying to keep this country free. From the early Pilgrims and through the wars, Americans were eager to go to war for the U. S. A.

Our neighbor and friend, Wanda Strange, had the misfortune to break her right wrist and is not able to drive, so she misses quilting but gets a ride and come to visit, anyway. We are all praying that it heals fast and like it should. Hang in there, Wanda.

I also heard that Riley Cogdell is having problems with his eyes and is in Dallas with his doctors. They are also in my prayers with hopes they can do everything that can possibly be done.

We have not forgotten the ones in homes or private care. Some of them are Mary Tom Burson, Roy Ann Bomar, Diane Mayfield, Charles Whitfill, Mary Asebedo, L. N. Johnson, Wilda Fuston are some that I am aware of. They remain in my prayers, also.

Good news, the preacher of the Methodist Church here, Rana Younge, has a new baby grandson, Rana Thomas and we are all very happy for the addition and join them in giving thanks to God.

I went to Lubbock last week, it was cloudy, beautiful white fluffy clouds with little wifts so close it looked like I could touch them. I saw lakes that had water in them that I had not seen in many years. We hope it continues to rain but I know the farmers would like to plow their weeds. But the ranchers are still rejoicing, I’ll bet.

I noticed the griders are giving up on the roof of our Community Center being built in our town. It’s coming along.

After I was widowed, I moved to Texas. My neighbor asked me where my husband was. “He’s gone to a better place” I said. She was amazed, “Better than Texas?”

Let’s Pray for No More Shootings!
