On the blustery afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 23, Spur’s volunteer fire department was called out to assist in the northern portion of the county as a fire was reported on rural acreage west of FM28 north of McAdoo. Units from Dickens, Floydada, and McAdoo also fought the blaze, which photos on social media indicated to be in broken, brush-covered country.
