Cornmeal biscuits a successful experiment

I’m reminded of when my dad frequently requested homemade biscuits for breakfast. My mom worked full-time, and she mainly cooked as a way for us to survive. However, she did love to bake sweets and make candy. But she didn’t have the time or desire to make homemade biscuits. So, she would tell my dad we were going to have the square kind…. which meant he could have toast instead!
