Texas Panhandle 100 Club awards area volunteer fire departments

    The Texas Panhandle 100 Club paid $10,000 each to Quitaque VFD, Turkey VFD and Silverton VFD June 25 and 26 to help with repairs and replacements in the wake of the series of wildfires last month.

    “Due to the drought early this year, we have had as many calls so far this year as all of last year,” JoDee Robison, Silverton Fire Chief, said.
