QUITAQUE—Bennie Frank Reagan, 79, of Quitaque, Texas, entered his Savior’s rest on August 6, 2021 in Matador, Texas. Bennie was born August 20, 1941, in Quitaque to Cecil O’dell and Lillie Belle (Payne) Reagan.

He attended Quitaque schools and after graduation went to Howard Payne University.

Bennie was a cattleman and raised registered shorthorn cattle. He loved raising cattle and horses.

Bennie served as an auctioneer for Reagan & Evans, Associated, along with Dulin & Reagan, and Five Star Auctioneers, and retired from Reagan & Brown Auctioneers in 2008.

Bennie had a true auctioneer’s heart and always had a story to tell. He loved taking part in the Briscoe County Stock Show and auctioned off the animals at the annual Buyers’ Meal for many years. He always enjoyed 4-H and FFA participants and had stories to tell about them or their parents or grandparents as each animal sold.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jackie Reagan Carpenter.

He is survived by his five sons, Zane, and wife, Sharra, of Silverton, Texas, Shane, and wife, Tracy, of Booker, Texas, Todd, and wife, Lisa, of Folley, Texas, Langdon, and wife, Shelley, of Vernon, Texas, and Bryce of Andrews, Texas, plus 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Saul, and husband, Jim, of Quitaque, Texas; brother-in-law Ronnie Carpenter and wife, Jana, of Quitaque; three nephews; their families; and numerous cousins and special friends.

The family will hold a celebration of life on August 10, 2021 at the Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque. Visitation will be Monday, August 9, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Quitaque.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Briscoe County Stock Show Association.
