When I was growing up in Jefferson, Ohio, the most popular place in town was Isaly’s, where 10 cents would get you an incredible skyscraper ice cream cone. The scoop for the ice cream was a pattern, patented design, that yielded a long inverse cone shaped dip. The tall scoop was called a skyscraper.
