    According to an obituary posted on the website of Moore-Rose Funeral Home, the namesake of longtime Matador eatery Billie Dean’s Restaurant Billie Dean Smith passed away in Lubbock March 10, 2022 at age 93. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at East Mound Cemetery in Matador. Condolences go to her son, Mayor Pat Smith of Matador, and other family and friends.
