Whenever I think of high school, I recall all the hours I spent learning Latin, a requirement for many in those days. The following ditty could usually be found in a notebook.
Latin is a dead language,
As dead as it can be.
First it killed the Romans
And now it’s killing me.
All are dead who wrote it,
All are dead who spoke it,
All will die who learn it
Blessed death, they’ve earned it!
