Myrtle Beavers Nead, 86, of Matador, Texas, and formerly of Plainview, Texas, was born January 22, 1938 in Rio Hondo, Texas, to Joseph Ross Beavers and Lola Estelle (Merrell) Beavers. She married Warde F. Nead in 1979. He passed away January 14, 1980. She moved to Matador June 29, 2005. Myrtle enjoyed collecting salt & pepper shakers and stuffed animals but most of all she enjoyed her outings with her nephew Joel Beavers and his wife, April. She also loved music and reading recipe books. She was a member of Roaring Springs Full Gospel Church.
Myrtle went to be with the Lord Monday, October 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Gayle Lunos and Jo Newton; and three nephews, Brandon Lunos, Shawn Newton and John Wallingsford.
Those left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Martha Wallingsford and nephew Joe Wallingsford of Matador, Texas; Eugene “Gene” Beavers (Margaret) of Laguna Vista, Texas; and Ida Tanaka (Hiroshi) of Conroe, Texas. She is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews. Entombment was in Wilsons’ Funeral Directors Cemetery in Wolfforth under the care of Wilsons’ Funeral Directors.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date and will be held in Matador, Texas.
