Body

Lisa Sue Rose, a beloved mother, sister, Mimi, and pioneer in her community, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, in Matador, Texas, at the age of 60.

She was born on March 31, 1965, to the late Roger and Linda Ashley. Lisa married the love of her life, the late Kenny Todd Rose, on October 6, 1985. Together they built a life centered on love, hard work, and family.

Lisa made local history as the first paramedic in Motley County, serving with deep compassion, strength and selflessness. Her service to others extended far beyond her career—she volunteered often and was always deeply involved in her children's lives.

Alongside Kenny, she also co-operated a small auto detail business, where her work ethic and heart for community were clearly seen. In her later years, Lisa fully embraced her most treasured role—being “Mimi” to her grandchildren. Loving them was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.

Lisa is survived by her loving children: Quinten and Kisha Rose of Matador, Texas, and Savannah Rose and Jesse Vela of Matador, Texas. She is also survived by her devoted siblings: Sheldon and Keisha Ashley of Matador, Texas; Cory Ashley of Plainview, Texas; Jarod Ashley and LeighAnn Moore of Lubbock, Texas; Kimberly and Michael Carillo of Matador, Texas; and Rhonda and Jason Sexton of Matador, Texas.

Lisa was the proud and doting Mimi to her nine grandchildren: Bradyn, Kyra, Zaylee, Josiah, Ian, Madelyn, Aubrie, Adelina and Luka. She will also be dearly missed by her twelve nieces and nephews: Colby, Colton, Tamra, Jubal, Kagen, Jaelyn, Rachael, Jada, Kade, Rylee, Tyler and Joleigh, along with thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of Lisa’s life was held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Full Gospel Church in Roaring Springs, Texas, followed by graveside services at Roaring Springs Cemetery.

Lisa lived her life with gratitude and grace. One of her favorite sayings was “Thank you, God, for waking me up this morning.”

These words reflected her deep faith, positive spirit, and the love she carried in her heart for God, her family, and her community. She leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering love-a legacy that lives on in the lives she touched and the hearts she shaped. Lisa Sue Rose will be missed beyond words and remembered forever.
