Chronicles life on early Burk Burnett land holdings

A new historical exhibition, “6666 Ranch” Life on Wild Horse Creek,” opened in October at the Burkburnett Historical Society &BoomtownMuseum in Burkburnett, Texas. The city is named for renowned 19th-century rancher Samuel Burk Burnett, who established his 6666 cattle brand there and in what became King County; he also struck oil in the town that would come to bear his name.
