Anna Francis, 98, of Lubbock, Texas, and formerly of Plainview, Texas, passed away on November 16, 2025. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2025 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with burial following in the Silverton Cemetery.
Anna was born on December 28, 1926 in Silverton, Texas, to Ira and Julia Autry Bean. She grew up in Silverton and graduated from Silverton High School in 1944.
She attended Lippert’s Business College in Plainview and was employed by Bell Telephone at the time of her marriage to Charles Francis. She continued to pursue other business opportunities, getting a diploma from McBride’s School of Hair Design and was also a Mary Kay Beauty consultant. She worked for years at the Knot Hole in Plainview. Anna also worked as a Real Estate Agent and obtained many certifications through the Real Estate Training Institute. Anna was also very gifted in the craft department and sewing, where she and Charles operated Cottage Crafters for many years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Plainview.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Ira and Julia Bean; her brothers, John, Carl, Joe, Martin Bean; sister, Mildred Smith; and a baby sibling in 1921.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharla Francis Cox and husband, Tony; son, Gary David Francis and wife, Donna, of Fredericksburg; sister-in-law, Maebelle Francis of Plainview; three grandchildren, Kimberly Boyd and husband, Ted, of Lubbock, Lori Carr and husband, Chad, of Amarillo, Jana Speck and husband, Michael, of Kerrville; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Hayden, Tyler, Kayden, Brayden, John and Charles; and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the Silverton Cemetery Association, Rock Creek Church of Christ in Silverton, or First Baptist Church in Plainview.
