The Motley County Matadors varsity boys basketball team is poised to be the runners-up in District 8-1A even after taking a tough loss Friday night to the State runnersup Valley Patriots 85-49.
The Mats are 3-2 in district and 18-5 on the year. Their only two district losses have been to Valley who is poised to clinch the district crown.
