Body

Betty June Bearden, lifelong resident of Matador, Tx, left her earthly home and entered the gates of Heaven on April 6, 2024 at the age of 95.

She was born to Doug Meador and Chloe Blair on June 23, 1928 in Matador.

Betty was a member of the Methodist Church in Matador, where she served in the nursery for many years.

Her work ethic was one to be admired. It didn’t matter how little or big the job, she gave it everything she had. Betty was very particular about the way she kept her home and it didn’t bother her to speak her mind and tell you if you were doing it wrong. (Just ask anyone whoever helped her wash dishes.)

Giving was Betty’s love language. She might not have had a lot to give, but she always made sure that no one went without, especially her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. So it’s to no surprise that Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday. Aside from turkey and dressing being her favorite meal, she made sure that any of the people she cared about and knew were alone, received a plate full of food from her. She loved cooking and baking for all people. Whether you were her family, missionaries visiting the church or just a neighbor across town. You could almost always count on receiving a piece of candy or Hershey bar if you dropped by to say hello. Betty’s hobbies included crocheting, baking & cooking, reading her Bible daily for hours at a time & loving her family unconditionally. Especially her beloved children Dean, Billy and Jackie. The last 8 years of her life were spent in The Matador Health and Rehabilitation facility. Even though she had a hard time hearing and seeing, she still knew her family and was always excited when they came to visit her. Betty became a great great grandmother just a year ago and she was thrilled to know her family was still growing!

Betty was the last living sibling of her Meador generation. Even though this generation has ended with her, the love she shared will spread and carry on through all the generations to come.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Ronnie Osborn, grandson James Dean Osborn, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her children, Dean Osborn (Sherry) of Roaring Springs, Tx, Billy Osborn (Brenda) of Matador, Tx, and Jackie Bearden Green (Rickey) of Roaring Springs, Tx.

Her grandchildren, Robert Osborn (Olivia), Kasey Osborn(Cassie), Samantha Jameson (Dusty Jackson), Nicole Hastey (Levi), Eric Green, Sabrina Barclay (Ty), Stacie Stoerner (Justin), Lexi Osborn (Stewart Urlich) Her great grandchildren, Jonathon (Erin), Adaline, Audrey, Elijah, Karli, Karston, Sutton, Trace, Marli, Dali, Blaze, Tristan, Tylee, Trent, and Trevor Her Great great granddaughter Madeline James Osborn and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Matador Health and Rehabilitation for the care they have provided for Betty over the past 8 years. Also Interim Hospice for their guidance and comfort over the last 2 years.

Services will be held 10:00am Friday April 12, 2024 at Matador Methodist Church followed by interment at the East Mound Cemetery under the direction of Zapata Funeral Home.
