FLOMOT— Donnie Lee Turner was born on February 4, 1945 to William Malcolm Turner and Lola Lee (Price) Turner in Matador, Texas. He grew up in Flomot, Texas. He graduated from Flomot High School in 1963.

He married Linda (Lackey) Turner on July 2, 1965 at her family home in the Cedar Hill Community of Floyd County, Texas.

Donnie was a man of many trades. He worked as a cowboy, a dispatcher at Bell Helicopter, a farmer, a feedlot assistant manager, a cotton gin owner, a Motley County commissioner, and a rancher. His favorite occupations that he loved were being a rancher and a cowboy.

He loved his cattle and horses. He not only loved animals, but he had a gift of animals loving him and doing things for and with him that no one else could accomplish. He was a saddle repairman and leather worker.

He had a passion for trading and bartering.

He served his community by being a volunteer fireman, cemetery volunteer and president of the Flomot Water Supply board.

But the one love of his life was his wife Linda of 57 years and his fur babies Lexie Boo, Pinter and Lucy.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of Flomot; brother Johnney (Carol Ann) of Canyon: sister-in-law Kimberly (Jeffrey) Erpelding of Plainview; nephews Craig (Cathey) Turner, Clifton Turner, Cobey (Janell) Turner; nieces Rejeania (Bobby) Grimsley, Cindy (Dave) Morgan, and Heather (Scott) Blount; and great nephews and nieces Cassidy Erlanger, Carley Turner, Hadley Turner, Hollis Turner, Skylar Blount, Cash Blount, Jody Grimsley, Jordan Morgan, Dylan Morgan, Gemma Turner, Harper Turner, Lola Turner, and Rowan Turner.

He is also survived by special friends Abel Flores, Todd Washington, Clint Ware, and Rex Yeary.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Lola Turner; brother Dean Turner; and brother Benney Turner.

Services will be officiated by Salt Jones of Lubbock. Services are currently pending at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Pallbearers will be Rex Yeary, Clint Ware, Todd Washington, Abel Flores, Cobey Turner, Hollis Turner, Hadley Turner, Craig Turner, and Pepper Jones.
