LUBBOCK—Francis “Polly” Jarrett, 97, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on June 14, 2022. She was born on September 17, 1924, in Silverton, Texas, to Wade and Zoe (Francis) Steele. Polly attended Lippert’s Business College and graduated in 1941. On March 16, 1944, she married Claude Earl “Jeep” Jarrett. Polly was a member of Quaker Avenue Church of Christ. She enjoyed rooting for the Red Raiders, the symphony, gardening, sewing, cooking, and being with family and friends.
Polly was survived by her daughters Sharon Bell (Robert) and Jo Bidwell; her son, James Jarrett; her daughter-in-law, Amy Jarrett; her grandsons, Mike Bell, Rob Bell, Jay Jarrett, John Jarrett, Jed Jarrett and Josh Bidwell; her granddaughter, Lara McNutt; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wade and Zoe Steele; her husband, Claude Jarrett; one daughter, Pat Jarrett; and a son, Earl Jarrett.
Services were held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Quaker Avenue Church of Christ in Lubbock, followed by burial at Silverton Cemetery in Silverton.
