Larry Hollinsworth entered into eternal rest on March 2, 2023 at the age of 79. He was born in Richmond, Calif., on August 18, 1943 to the late Joseph Edwards and Reba (Baldridge) Hollinsworth.
Larry had a lifelong career doing what he loved, driving. He drove every kind of truck that could be driven. “I’ve Been Everywhere,” by Hank Snow, best describes his journeys and love for what he did. Larry could proudfully detail every city in Texas; and he traveled across the country, Canada, and Mexico. He was a truck driver for over 50 years, and drove for Walmart for over 26 of those years. Altogether, Larry drove over 6 million miles in his career, and he enjoyed every bit of it. Larry was talented in being self-sufficient at home and had the special ability to manipulate anything to work the way he needed it to. He also converted his metal barn structure into a loving home, which he was proud of and shared with his family for over 27 years. He worked hard to provide for his family and be the best husband, father and grandfather. There was no bigger Beatles fan than Larry, and he had a love for collecting elephants, as well as enjoyed his time sitting outside watching wildlife animals, especially roadrunners.
Larry was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Hollinsworth, and his siblings, Barbara Bushland and James Hollinsworth. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Annette Hollinsworth; his daughter, Kayla (Chance) Maynard; his stepdaughter, Pamela Echols; his grandchildren, Katherine, William, Emma, Hudson, and Chelsea; and a host of other family and friends.
His life will be celebrated at Roaring Springs Community Center on 3rd Street, Roaring Springs,TX, Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. For online tributes and shared memories please visit www.ResthavenFuneralHome.com.
