SILVERTON— Mary Ivory, 73, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. Mary was born on April 18, 1950, in Itasca, Texas, to John and Mary Ella (Lockett) Mathis. She graduated from Lockney High School. She married LB Ivory on May 10, 1950, in Fort Worth, Texas. They lived in Fort Worth after their marriage. They later moved to Silverton. She was a housewife until her children were almost grown, when she went to work for Xcel for a number of years, then Walmart for a few years and the Silverton ISD for a number of years. She ended up working for the Boll Weevil Eradication Program for a number of years before she retired. She attended the First Baptist Church of Silverton and the Silverton Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Lyndell Ivory; and a daughter, Roslin Ivory.
Her family includes her husband, LB Ivory of Silverton; her sons Jonathan Ivory and wife, Jennifer, of Cusseta, Georgia, and Joseph Ivory and wife, Heather, of Brownsville, Kentucky; several brothers and sisters; and her grandchildren, Quinten, Kelsey, Zavier, Mackenzie, Ziva, Bailey, Tavian, Corbin and Dawson.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
