LUBBOCK—Viewing and visitation for Mary Virginia “Topsy” Hunt of Lubbock were held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel in Lubbock, Texas. Graveside services were be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Resthaven with Nat Cooper officiating.

Topsy was 95 and passed away peacefully Sunday, February 27. She was born November 9, 1926, in Brinkman, Okla., to the late Ivan Stanley and Estella Ray Warlick.

Topsy married Marvin Fred Hunt on January 10, 1946, in Wellington, Texas. Marvin and Topsy moved their family to Matador, Texas, in 1952 and then moved to Lubbock in 1962. Marvin and Topsy owned and operated the Old Time Clock Shop in Lubbock’s Cactus Alley for 26 years. Topsy was a faithful member of Sunset Church of Christ in Lubbock.

Topsy was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; son, Donnie Hunt; granddaughter Jessica McReynolds; grandson William McReynolds; and sister-in-law Bobbie Whitley. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Ruth of Enid, Okla.; daughters Susan McReynolds and Janet Reagan, both of Lubbock, and daughter Sandra Markland of Fort Worth; and six grandsons, one granddaughter, four great-grandsons and six great-granddaughters.
