Neil Wayne Guest was born December 30, 1953, to James Smith Guest and Rita Nell (Lane) Guest. Neil went to his Heavenly home on January 5, 2026, at the age of 72 years.
Graveside services were scheduled for Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey, Texas, with Pastor Stuart Smith and Chaplain Karen Wells officiating.
A visitation took place at the Church of Christ fellowship hall in Turkey, Texas, on Thursday, Jan. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Neil grew up in Turkey, Texas, and was valedictorian of the class of 1972, the last graduating class of Turkey High School. He attended the Methodist School of Radiology and always had a vast knowledge of medical topics…just one of his many areas of expertise.
Neil came home to spend most of his life in the family occupation of farming. He approached this with precision and wanted the highest quality from his crops.
Neil was intelligent, inquisitive, genuine and loyal. He loved airplanes, history, racecars and astronomy, but most of all, he loved his wife, his family and his friends.
Neil married the love of his life, Kayla Johnson Guest, on Sept. 1, 2000. They shared a deep love that continued to grow every day.
Neil is preceded in death by his father, Smitty Guest; father-in-law and motherin- law, Arnold and Carolyn (May) Johnson; grandparents, Jim and Pauline (Smith) Guest and Luke and Chloe (Lacy) Lane; siblings Sheila Jane Guest, Barry Lane Guest and Steven Blaine Guest; and uncles and aunts, Olen and Margaret Lane and Alton and Glo Lane.
Neil is survived by his wife, Kayla; mother, Rita Guest; brother, Brent Guest; niece, Tracy Guest; cousins, Leigh Ann (Lane) North, Kevin Lane and Greg Lane; sister-in-law, Lucretia Johnson Dockery; and niece, Brittany Dockery Carroll and husband Bryce; and by his four-legged companions, Tiger Lily and Little Boy.
