Ola Christine Brummett, age 91, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Quitaque. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Quitaque. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:00 noon Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Quitaque. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Quitaque.
Ola Christine Brummett was born July 18, 1930, to Robert Edwards and Alice Owen in Turkey, Texas. She married Thomas Allen Brummett in December of 1946, and they made their home in Quitaque, Texas, where they raised their two children, Don and Connie.
She was known as Momma, Neenee, Grandma, Aunt Teen, Momo and a friend to many. She enjoyed meeting new people and loved them all. Once you met her, she made you feel like family.
Christine was a woman of many trades and talents and will always be remembered for her love of the arts. This could be seen in her time and dedication spent preserving the arts at local museums. Some of her favorite hobbies were drawing, painting, sewing, photography and family history.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Edwards; her husband, Allen Brummett; her daughter, Connie Brummett Rice; her son-in-law, Renay Rice; her granddaughter Tammie Rice, and brothers Bruce and Jerry Edwards.
Christine is survived by one son, Don Brummett, and wife Jan of Quitaque, Texas; four sisters, Rita Northcross of Chandler, Oklahoma, Kay Beavers of Turkey, Texas, Anita Ramsey of Silverton, Texas, and Neeta Green of Plainview, Texas; two brothers, Jearl Edwards of Amarillo, Texas and Bobby Edwards and wife Margaret of Turkey, Texas; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
