Roy Edmond Hunter, 93, of Roaring Springs, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 16, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.

Edmond was born on January 15, 1932, to Roy and Lueraney Hunter in Turkey, Texas. He graduated from Turkey High School in 1950 and married his high school sweetheart, Joyce (Studer) Hunter, later that year in December. They were married 69 years prior to her death in October 2019.

Edmond joined the army in 1952 serving our country during the Korean conflict. Edmond and Joyce moved to Dimmitt, Texas, in 1954 after receiving an honorable discharge from the Army. They lived in Dimmitt for 42 years before moving to Roaring Springs, Texas.

He was a lifelong self-employed carpenter.

He is survived by his daughter, Vickie (George) Nelson of Canyon, Texas; two sons, Ricky (Katy) Hunter of Bushland, Texas, and Scott (Andrea) Hunter of Georgetown Texas; five grandchildren, Lynn, Summer, and Shawn Nelson, and Bo and Adam Hunter; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
