Body MATADORThe City of Matador has a new mayor, after longtime incumbent Pat Smith did not run for reelection this term.Gerald Conner defeated incumbent city council member Dvonna Grundy 159 to 37 in the May 4, 2024 election.

Renowned musician Bob Wills himself once cut hair at the shop. Preservationist Mike Goolsby, who also recently restored the Phillips 66 gas station inTurkey, undertook the historic restoration project.
