The church is asking for material donations in the form of clothes, shoes, jackets, toiletry items, cleaning supplies of all sorts, paper goods, groceries including water, pantry items, refrigerated items, and possibly meals in a couple of days. A planned closure of the store, according to locals, would leave other businesses, such as the Hotel Matador bed & breakfast next door and Billie Dean’s Restaurant on U.S. 62 in tough straits—not to mention local families, a hard-working ranching community, and visitors to the area. | CAPROCK COURIER
