Lindee Miller earns honors at National 4-H in Colorado

Body Briscoe County’s Lindee Miller placed as Reserve National Champion in the construction category out of over 20 competitors at the National 4-H Contest in Denver, Colorado, in early January.

Body Well, New Year’s has come and gone and things are about the same. We look back and are glad in some ways that not much has changed. And I wonder how many of us are still keeping our New Year’s Resolution.

Body Last week, cowboy poet and entertainer Red Steagall of Fort Worth posted on his show’s website that he had recently filmed material for upcoming segments at the Four Sixes ranch headquarters in Guthrie and visited with numerous ranch personnel.

Body I like to keep prepared puff pastry on hand in my freezer. Pepperidge Farm is a quality brand if you are not making it from scratch. It’s also the most common one stocked at most local supermarkets. It can be found near the frozen pie shells.

Tracking all the beeps

Body Noises. Beep. Beep. Is the house on fire? Is carbon monoxide collecting? Is the coffee ready? Is it a bird? Know your beeps. If can’t hear the beeps, you’re out of luck. Or lucky, if you don’t like beeps.

Body Back in the day, when West Texas weekly newspapers were young and this 64-year-old editor’s parents were not yet a glimmer in their own parents’ eyes, dropping in at the newspaper office was the most common way to share news of any sort.
