Body I make many types of grain bowls and enjoy the ease and flexibility. I can make them with whatever is left in my fridge at any given time. Or, I plan a themed grain bowl, such as an Asian style packed with brown or white rice, and veggies one might find in a stir fry.

Body junior recently was the winner of a T-shirt design contest hosted by the Coffee Memorial Blood Center of Amarillo and was interviewed by Amarillo’s KFDA/Channel 10 about her accomplishment. Winner Riley Gore will also be given a $500 scholarship.

Overheard

Body “Gosh, am I glad to see you!” Emmy said. Emmy was my big cousin. I was 8, Emmy was 11. I wanted to be Emmy’s best friend, but Emmy was happier with girls her own age. At least that’s the way it was, until today. Today Emmy said she was glad to see me. I soon found out why.
