Body Governor Greg Abbott last week issued a disaster declaration for the Texas Panhandle, High Plains, and South Plains regions impacted by severe storms and flooding that began on May 27 and continues to affect homes,businesses,and the agriculture industry throughout the region.

Body Spencer Perkins (above, left) has been named the new Briscoe County Agriculture and Natural Resources agent. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Perkins competed on the horse judging and ranch horse teams while at the university.

Body All five of us got our “give-away” quilt hemmed and took it to the First National Bank in Silverton where it is displayed and they will sell chances on it at $1 each or 6 for $5. We also put up a quilt for Rose Mary and got started on it.

Body I was to deliver my very first Girl Scout cookie orders to my neighbors. Because I was in fourth grade, my parents thought me capable of doing this on my own. My orders bagged, labeled and loaded on my wagon, I put on my crisp uniform and ventured down the gravel road.
