Body The Silverton Senior Citizens had their monthly meeting Friday with a very nice crowd attending and we enjoyed a very good meal. We were glad to have Kathy May bring her portable organ, and she sang several cowboy songs.

Body Soffritto is a combination of onion, carrot, and celery. In Italy, soffritto is finely diced, uniformly. But it is very similar to the French version, called mirepoix, which is often diced a bit larger. The threesome is also referred to as the holy trinity by some.

Body SWISHER COUNTY — A man is behind bars in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Tess Birkenfeld of Happy on March 16. On March 25 the Swisher County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Eduardo Reyna Barrientos of Silverton in connection with the slaying.

PHS alum donates $10K to Paducah pool project

Body Russ and Donna Rhinehart of Stillwater, Okla., made a big splash this week in Donna’s hometown of Paducah. The couple pledged a $10,000 donation to the city’s ongoing “Make A Splash” fundraising campaign to restore the historic 1937 city pool.
